Welcome all

There are two aspects to this Blog:
The Baby Moon Lifestyle side, which covers all our announcements, event lines ups and basic product selling. For more info: babymoonlifestyle.multiply.com

The second one is the Lolita Modeling side. There are blog entries that are resources to help in niche modeling.
Lolita Modeling is different from High Fashion or Catalog Modeling. Lolitas come in different shapes and sizes but what sets them apart is how they carry themselves. They must adhere to the Victorian appeal looking like a porcelain doll at all times.
Consider this an online workshop. So, see tips and tricks below.

Runway Recap of Cannis Valle

Dear Models, it's time to relax and unwind. The show is over and it was a success.
Hopefully, we will get invited again for October. Thank you models and the runway recap is posted below. Please read and consider. I'll send more pictures soon.

Runway Recap: Noressa, Kat and Pearl

Cannis Valle Fashion Show March 27, 2011 at Alabang Town Center.

This Runways Recap is for Models to better themselves for future shows. These are critiques and not criticisms.

Noressa and Chow Chow as Bird Lady
This girl knows how to work her poses! Even with a difficult dog, you work it, girl!

Height is not a requirement when you have good poses and a winning personality.
What you do need to invest in are powerful facial expressions and a pair of flesh or black boy shorts. Those checkered shorts are showing and is ruining some of the shots.

Kat and Eeyore as Gypsies
Hi Kat, good job on listening. Yes, this is exactly what people want to see in a dog show: interaction. You actually interacted with your dog and the pet parents seemed pleased.

I should ban this pose because all of you girls have it in one picture or the other.
Compared to your previous shows, you shine best in sunlight or day light. You can work this to your advantage.

Pearl and Negra as the Haunted House

Negra was a bit rowdy that day. But you pulled off flawless poses.

This is actually a good shot.
Since you can pull off good shots, you can try experimenting on arm movements and poses utilizing the whole space around you.

Runway Recap: Cheryl and Selena

Cannis Valle Fashion Show March 27, 2011 at Alabang Town Center.

This Runways Recap is for Models to better themselves for future shows. These are critiques and not criticisms.

Cheryl and Chiquita as Mermaids
For a 1st (2nd) time model, you actually did a good job. You worked the dress and did mermaid-like poses.

What we need to work on is facial expressions. Try experimenting with pouts and angry faces. You can also consult magazines on various model-like facial expressions.

Selena and Moshi as Snake Lady

Pose was ok but you were too fast! Slow down and take 3 seconds to let the photographer adjust to you. You did snake-like poses which is good but you lack the snake-like walk. Again, don't be afraid to over act just like in a cosplay.

This is actually a good picture but since this is a dog show, you forgot all about your dog.

Runway Recap: Angel and Olive

Cannis Valle Fashion Show March 27, 2011 at Alabang Town Center.

This Runways Recap is for Models to better themselves for future shows. These are critiques and not criticisms.

Angel and Achie as Sharp Shooters

Good Job on the posing. You were actually able to control your dog well.
You were in character and did a good job doing it.

You can try bolder directions with your poses. Try experimenting twisting your body in awkward poses. See what works for you.

Olive and Tigger as White Lady
Olive, Marvelous posing and graceful falling. :-)

I liked how you played with the dress. You are actually a very good model.

Try new poses and invent your true signature posing. It will help in future shows.

Runway Recap: Hannah, SunnyRose and Tweety

Cannis Valle Fashion Show March 27, 2011 at Alabang Town Center.

This Runways Recap is for Models to better themselves for future shows. These are critiques and not criticisms.

Hannah and Marshmallow as Lion Tamer
Marshmallow was hard to control and given your situation you made the best of it.
Try to be in character a hundred percent all the time. Pretend Marshmallow is the Lion at all times.

You lacked posing.
Lion tamers are cruel and forceful.
Try being overacting instead of underacting.

Sunny Rose and Tweety with Pablo as Fortuen Tellers
Needs posing.

Hi Sunny Rose, Tweety did more poses than you. If you are serious about being Loli, it needs a lot of acting and posing. Tweety can use posing classes and she can actually work as a good model.

Runway Recap: Raine and Angelique

Cannis Valle Fashion Show March 27, 2011 at Alabang Town Center.

This Runways Recap is for Models to better themselves for future shows. These are critiques and not criticisms.

Rain and Jungle as Hypnotists.
Raine, not very hypnotic in gestures. Your awkward stance makes it posy as a models. That may be good in some cases but it tend to be repetitive. Try standing straight when you walk.

I liked a lot of your shots but your face is mostly covered by your hair. Perhaps investment of hairspray is a must.

Angelique and Buddy
Jhelai, your poses are an improvement but it needs more. Don't be afraid to be overacting.

Again we come back to your face. It's very alanganin again.

Go look in the mirror and experiment on facial expressions. Try taray or angry.

Runways Re-cap of La Belle Epoch

Hello Models,

This is a runway re-cap of the Feb 27 La Belle Epoch Fashion Show.
As a designer, we are tasked to create new fashion. We want to shape what we want as a future fashion. It is important for us to make a mark, to leave our name behind in our clients' minds. To do that, we have to have an impact. To have an impact, the show must be smooth, dramatic and flowing. It is part of our job to direct the show if necessary. Choreographing a show is as important as sewing the garments. As a young designer, I have a duty to train models to make sure the creations come to life.
Thus, runways re-caps are important to show the models what needs to be improved.

This Runways re-cap is based on pictures we've taken plus video from Hobbes and Landes.
Pearl: Good control of the dog. Walk is excellent but the posing falls to redundancy. You need to work on newer poses and more varied ones.
Kat: Some posing were ok. Turning was awkward. Maybe fault of big dog but needs more grace. It also needs posing. You were lost in controlling the dog versus being a model.
Janina: There are times you forget to pose and smile in a strange way. How strange: splash island strange. Again, turning was awkward. You need more modeling poses.
Darlene: There are times the dog controls you and it shows on your face. You photograph well on stolen moments but not during actual posing. If the dog misbehaves and drags you around, act like a pro and don't let it show on your movements/face.
Angel: You also had a hard time controlling your dog and you lacked photos because of that. Remember, the dog is an accessory. You have to shine no matter what.
Niah: I loved what you did when the dog sat down. Fixing his hat was a nice touch. You were actually very good especially with an active dog. Don't forget to give that trademark you because it was lost when the dog dragged you around.

Raine: You are actually photogenic while posing and while being candid. All your shots were great but int he video (and actual runway) you walked very awkwardly. You need to practice working with heels. Being tall is an asset but you need to show that while striding on that carpet.

Cheryl: Your dog was easiest to control since he's small and yours. You need to work on your posing. There's wasn't much posing done. Also since you are working with your dog, it is important to have an interactive shot with her.

So far, the show was a success and the crowd loves it. Models, please practice and improve. Next red carpet in on ATC March 27.

Runway Recap Moments of PCC: Dark Victorian Show

Greetings! Below are some of the scnenes and comments for Baby Moon Lifestyle's Dark Victorian Fashion Show.
Pictures taken by Jess (BML Sales Clerk) Sorry guys, only have a few pictures.

First: Pearl, good job on the look. It is very high fashion. You should consider that in your portfolio development.

Jane, I like the posing. It didn't look like putol and ulo. Yey!

Mae, you pose well but you kept looking completely at the sides. Try using your peripherals if you need to look at cues. My only two solos of you are all looking to the side.

I like how you two interact. Jhelai, good body movements but deadpan sa face. Either magalit ka or smile nalang. you movements are elegant, though.

You have the most unique walk. It can be your signature walk. Practice a but of bouncing para hindi too robotic ang dating. Ok posing. The pressures on stage made you really come out.
Keep up the good work and keep practicing.

Dar, flawless ang transitions. Good poses. Need work on walking towards the center. It did improve when you reached your triangle.

Hi Jewel, your poses were really varied. Good. Make sure to stay at least 3 seconds before shifting poses. You moved too fast and was only captures twice in my cam. You look really long on stage, which is very good for models. There were lapses on your face when you didn't smile much. Try practicing in the mirror: Masungit face and haughty face.

Olive, channeling the inner step mother was perfect. Like Jewel, stay at least 3 seconds before a new pose to maximized camera potentials shots. Just a little work on the pouting becase from this angle, your jaw will look big. I did like how your face was in Step mom's photos.

Over all, everyone was great. I would like to help you guys improve some more and reach your full potential. Normally, people would say you can't model if you didn't have certain height and weight. That you can only model if you are popular. That's not true at all. You can be a model using what you have. Right now, there is a growing demand for "Normal" people or Irregularly-shaped models. Sounds strange?
It's like this, models: You embody every other girl who wants to be up there. They relate to you. But at the same time, you are edgy and can fit fashion norms. You bridge both worlds.
My advice is to PRACTICE 3X a day. Look in the mirror and see you best angles. Take pictures of yourself to see what's your photographic side.
Materials you can consider: Ftv and America's Next Top Model.
